Memories of my childhood. There were fields opposite my parents’ house, where in summer there were always lots of pink, white and red poppies in bloom. My brother and I used to have wonderful times playing there with the neighbour’s children in the tall grass and among the wheat crops. A whole hidden world all to ourselves. Whenever I see poppies, I feel a longing for that place in the here and now, where everything was possible and everything was simple and exciting.
